If you talk on a cell phone while driving, please note that the new hands free law goes into effect today, Tuesday, July 1, 2008. If you are caught driving without a hands free headset, be prepared to pay a $20 fine for the first offense and $50 for each subsequent offense.

Need a hands free device, or new cell phone? Visit http://www.freecallz.com for great deals!

Safe driving!  Smiley

KCRA reports 47 people pulled over this morning by CHP & eight given tickets.

Also, the CA law does ban texting while driving for minors but adults pulled over found to be texting can be cited for being "distracted" Smiley

I'm cool with the law.  The only thing that has really bugged me is the fact that getting phones integrated with your car has been so proprietary.

You can either use onstar and be stuck with another cel phone bill that works only in your car.

You can wire your car for a specific phone and cradle, just to find out next year they changed
the adapters, power, etc.. So your “new” cel phone won’t work in the existing wired cradle.
Hopefully Bluetooth will solve all that, I’ve seen some pretty nice Bluetooth car integration.

Why would you use anything other than bluetooth in your car?
