Tit for Tat? GOP Lawmaker in the "Doghouse"

Quote
The smallest office at the state Capitol is known as the doghouse. It's occupant is usually a freshman from the
minority party.

There isn't much space in the 391 square-foot, two-room suite. It now serves as legislative headquarters to one of the chamber's senior lawmakers. Republicans aren't happy.

Republican Todd Spitzer of Orange Monday said he was given the office as a punishment by Democratic Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez.
He says the assignment was politically driven and would backfire.

Democrats say the move was part of a routine reshuffling of offices. They note that Spitzer's cramped office has a desirable window view of Capitol Park.

Nunez's deputy chief of staff says the previous tenant, freshman Assemblyman Paul Cook of Yucca Valley needed more space. He has five staff members compared with Spitzer's three.

The speaker and Spitzer have often clashed on prison and public safety issues.

What is the big deal with this. if one person has more people then they need more room. Unless of course that they are saying that because of party affiliation that is why it was done then it was wrong.
