Citrus Heights cops re-target street racers
Citrus Heights police will target street racers again Friday and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. with "zero tolerance" for them and their vehicles, said Mark Boettger, Citrus Heights police patrol services commander.
"We have a group of officers specially trained in this type of enforcement," Boettger said. "You don't want to be driving a modified vehicle in Citrus Heights this weekend."
Regional enforcement started in Citrus Heights on June 15 with officers from that city as well as the California Highway Patrol, Roseville and Elk Grove. That two-evening effort resulted in 81 tickets, five arrests and nine towed vehicles.
