Students returning to class Monday at California State University, Sacramento got a lesson in labor relations as many professors walked a picket line to protest stalled contract negotitions.

The California Faculty Association said it is upset with an impasse in labor talks, so many carried signs as they marched near the campus library.

Protests were taking place at 23 CSU campuses around the state, organizers said.
