Local Scientists Developing New Bio-Diesel
You've probably heard of people using old french fry oil to run their cars, but that can be messy. Why not get it straight from the plant seeds? It's called bio-diesel, and it's something local scientists are working on.
Gas prices going up every time we turn around. The Center for Integrated Farming Systems at UC Davis is turning to oil seed or more specifically canola, safflour and sunflower seed oil to produce bio-diesel. It's easy to make diesel fuel from them.
