At Calvary Christian Center in the middle of Del Paso Heights, a youth conference talks about stopping the tide of violence, gangs and drugs. They're carrying the message through what young people can identify with-- rap music with a positive message.

"A lot of this is just over color or over a street. I don't think it does a lot of good to kill each other over colors and streets," said Chad Martin, Calvary Christian Center attendee.

The event was spearheaded by Pastor Phillip Goudeaux, who wants this conference to be more than about music. The youth are also attending workshops on economic empowerment in areas such as real estate investment and job preparation.
