The Sacramento Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying an individual they say was involved in a hit-and-run that severely injured a man.

Police say John Kerr, who is confined to a wheelchair, was traveling in a bicycle lane west-bound on L Street when a small car struck his wheelchair. Kerr was thrown from the wheelchair and suffered serious injuries. The driver then reportedly took off. Police say the car may have been damaged on its right front panel or on the passenger side door.

The Sacramento Police Department’s Hit-And-Run Unit is asking anyone with information pertaining to the collision to contact the Police Department at 916-277-6032.
