Four people in a speeding car and an Elk Grove woman escaped without injuries after the vehicle slammed into the back of the woman's home at over 60 miles an hour and burst into flames, Elk Grove police officials said.

The driver of the Cadillac said his brakes failed as he drove eastbound on Teagan Way around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said the driver missed a turn and barreled through a fence and into the back bedroom of the home on Santorini Drive.
