A Fair Oaks man was hospitalized early Monday after getting hit over the head with a baseball bat by a burglar, Sacramento County sheriff's investigators said.

Authorities were called to the 6000 block of Kenneth Oak Way home at about 4 a.m. after the wife of the victim went to a neighbor's house for help.
