KFC to stop using trans fats in some items

I don't like it (KFC) very much,because it is  too oily,if eat it too much, it will be harmful for our health.

That's what the elimination of trans fat is supposed to help with of course it still won't be the healthiest thing you can eat Wink

It sounds like a good idea.  I'm sure it will cost them a lot more to use a safer oil like Canola, but it's a good step in the right direction for the health of Americans.  We don't need any more strain on our health care system and anything we can do to combat heart disease is a good thing that I will support on the government level.

I myself have stop using vegetable oils and started using Canola and Corn oil. I prefer the way they taste afterall. I am glad to hear that, however I am not a KFC fan. They are too high for the chicken they sell. That is why they had to change their name from Kentucky Fried Chicken to KFC because their chicken is not fried. I don't know about the extra crispy, but they couldn't keep the name. Are there any other fast food restaurants falling into line as well?

That article states that NY's law will affect over 24,000 food establishments, so I think they're right that there will be a ripple effect.  How many of those are on both coasts is anyone's guess...

I think that just a couple weeks ago Taco Bell said they will follow suit and switch to canola oil.
