A Dixon company is recalling alfalfa sprouts because the product could be contaminated with salmonella.

The company called Salad Cosmo U.S.A. Corp. says the sprouts are packaged in plastic containers with white and green labels and in 1-pound bags with blue labels.

They were shipped to grocery stores in California, Washington, Oregon and Nevada. No illnesses have been reported.

The contamination was discovered during routine testing.
