Anyone here play badminton for their local high school or even play at all? Well I did during my high school years and it was fun. If you are in high school and there is a badminton team at your school, you should tryout and go for the team. It is a very nice sport that teaches you a lot, teaches you more than just a skill.

We played a little bit in high school, but I don't recall there being teams... It was pretty fun, especially when it was too cold or raining to do anything outside Smiley

Hi guys,

I am actually looking for a place to play. My family just relocated from Boston where we played quite competitively. Badminton is a growing sport in the US (the US won the world champs in doubles in 2005). Orange county is where the national team trains. I'm also looking to help promote the sport more in the Sacramento area.

Wondering if there are some local schools that will allow outsiders to play on the weekends or even interested in forming some sort of club.

Thanks.

I have always wanted to try it but at my school they don't have it. I wish they did though looks pretty cool.

I played for a season in highschool. We started the team more or less as a joke thinking it would be easy. We got our tails beat!

This is something I miss a lot!!  I come from Manila and badminton is a really popular sport in Asia (basically since it's indoor and you can play rain or shine).  My cousins and I all play and we could make for doubles but we haven't found a badminton court here available to the public.   Sad  Let alone sports shops that sell up to date badminton gear and stuff.

Ahhh i miss this.  If anyone knows a place to play... let me know!
