Well, a lot of the general questions have been answered for other people looking to move to Sacramento and/or surrounding cities/towns... Like most places, it depends on where you live & work - people are generally friendly, but not in all areas, and the same can be said about driving, shopping, etc. Crime varies depending on what area you're in, as well as real estate. I like the weather here because we have seasons, hot, cold, but not the severe extremes... plus we're w/in a couple hours of the snow and the ocean. I should also note that we're not the stereotypical Californians w/ the surfers and sandy beaches you see on TV. Sacramento is more of a small city trying to grow and the Greater Sacramento Metropolitan Area encompasses many smaller towns and cities, which you will see separate forums here on this site
