Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that burned a south Natomas playground late Tuesday night.

The blaze, which officials said broke out at about 11:40 p.m., destroyed the play structure at Chuckwagon Park.

As of Wednesday morning, police tape surrounded the charred remains of the structure.

In June last year, vandals were blamed for a fire that burned another Natomas playground.

The burned Fort Natomas structure, located in Jefferson Park, was rebuilt and reopened in November.
