Parolee Arrested In Sacramento After Police Chase
A wanted parolee was arrested Wednesday afternoon after leading police on a high-speed chase from the Elk Grove area north to Natomas, officials said.
Authorities said a sport utility vehicle driven by 30-year-old Jacobi Sanford led officers north along Interstate 5 through downtown Sacramento and to Natomas at speeds that hit 85 mph in some places.
The SUV exited I-5 at Del Paso Road, headed west and led officers into an apartment complex off El Centro Road.
Police said the SUV crashed into a parked pickup truck, at which time Sanford bailed out and tried to run away.
Officers captured Sanford and took him to jail. Officials said Sanford was being sought on a no-bail warrant.
The chase involved officers from Elk Grove, Sacramento and the California Highway Patrol.
