Teen Gunned Down On San Juan Road
Sacramento police are investigating a homicide that happened Tuesday evening in the city's south Natomas area.
Police said officers responded to San Juan Road and Bandon Way just after 6 p.m. after reports of shots fired in area.
The officers found the 17-year-old victim lying in the roadway. Paramedics pronounced the teen dead at the scene a short time later.
Investigators said they believe the victim was walking along San Juan Road when he was shot several times by a gunman who approached on foot.
Witnesses described the shooter as black, 16 to 23 years old, wearing a black, button-down shirt and dark jeans.
Police said the victim's identity is being withheld because of his age.
Investigators said they have not yet determined a motive for the killing.
