Authorities are searching for an arsonist who burned a playground in the North Highlands area of Sacramento County school early Wednesday, fire officials said.

An official with Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said five blazes in the past five months have been reported on or near the Oakdale Elementary School campus, located on Myrtle Avenue not far from the intersection of Interstate 80 and Watt Avenue.
