The store that brags that every item for a dollar, is making customers pay in other ways.

Shopping carts usually don't cost a dime, but at this dollar tree in north highlands get a quarter out if you want a cart.

“I think it's a good idea. Put a quarter in and get it back. The carts are worth a lot of money” said Betty Douglas.

The store was losing a lot of money. Manager says they started the deposit system because people were taking off with the carts. You drop a coin in, get the cart and when you're done shopping, bring it back and get your money back.
