A pedestrian was killed after running into traffic in north Sacramento Tuesday night.

It happened at about 8:45 p.m. near the light rail station at Del Paso Boulevard and Arden Way.

A security guard at the light rail station told police the man was drinking on the platform and was asked to leave.

The man then ran between two buses and was hit by a car in the northbound lanes of Arden Way.

He was taken to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, where he died a short time later.

The man's identity has not been released.
