I can't help but notice when talking to people from Southern California, or reading their posts online, they add the word "The" in front of freeway names... Do any of you do this up here in Central/Northern California? Can anyone give a rational explanation as to why they add "The" before a proper noun? (i.e. The Greg took The 50 in his The Toyota to have a The Pepsi at The Mama Nardis in The Folsom.) Wink

NorCal has "hella", SoCal feels the need to add "The" to freeway names.
