Big Man Bonanza: Kings Ink Another 7-Footer

Quote
It doesn't appear the Kings will be short of big men next season.

Sacramento's off-season turnover took another twist Friday as the team continued stockpiling frontcourt help, signing free agent forward-center Mikki Moore to a contract. With the signing, the 7-footer Moore, a nine-year league veteran, will join his eighth NBA team.

While terms of the deal were not disclosed, ESPN.com reported the contract was believed to be for three years worth $18 million.

"We're really excited to come to an agreement with Mikki Moore," Kings President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie said. "He brings athleticism, length, skill and experience to our team and we're looking forward to watching him play for the Kings."

Moore's journeyman pro career peaked last season when the veteran out of Nebraska started 55 games for the New Jersey Nets in place of injured center Nenad Krstic. Moore finished averaging 9.8 points and 5.1 rebound a game last season. He also averaged 14.8 points and 4.7 rebounds in six Eastern Conference semifinal playoff games versus Cleveland.

Before his stop in New Jersey, Moore also played for Detroit, Boston, Atlanta, Utah, the Los Angeles Clippers and Seattle.
