If someone were to move to Sacramento for work, does anyone have advice as to places to live? Say if you got a job downtown, what are some good neighborhoods that are pretty safe and are within 25 minutes or so driving to work?

I live about a hour outside of Sacramento. If I'm in he area, I'll stop by the forum and ask folks here about things to do in the city. I've been to Old Sac and downtown several times but am always looking for new interesting spots.
