2  Sacramento, CA Discussion / Sacramento Discussion / Sac Sheriff Sex Scandal on: March 19, 2007, 05:27:06 PM
otherwise titled "Doing Hard Time, or Doing Time Hard?".

i would have thought this would have made it on here.  it seems unlikely that the members here havent heard about this, but here is a link to the story off the sac bee.
honestly, wtf?  i know this doesnt rate up there with the dirtiest of cops, but one must admit, it is pretty damn dirty.

i am about to run from here to castroville and down hwy 1 to the socal area.  i want to take my time and enjoy, but i know how i drive.  chances are i will be testing the theory that one can drive fast, and still take their time.

4  Sacramento, CA Discussion / Sacramento Discussion / Re: Police Search For Sports Cap Bandit on: March 19, 2007, 05:14:00 PM
i have no idea who that is, but this is one of those occasions where an individual looks very familiar.
come on, though. "sports cap bandit"?  that is the best they got?
5  Sacramento, CA Discussion / Folsom / Re: Body Found Hanging In Folsom Park on: March 19, 2007, 05:11:07 PM
hmm... this is an interesting story.  i am extremely curious to know how this ends.  honestly, even the possibility that there was a modern day lynching is enough to make me boil.
6  General Discussion / Off Topic / Re: Roses are red... FTD.com sucks on: February 16, 2007, 06:30:48 PM

9  General Discussion / Off Topic / Re: THE <freeway name> on: January 05, 2007, 03:41:26 PM
c/lmfao.

seriously.

NorCal has "hella", SoCal feels the need to add "The" to freeway names.
10  General Discussion / Off Topic / Re: Happy New Year! on: January 01, 2007, 12:49:06 PM
right back at you, eric.

and, of course, to everyone else as well.
11  Sacramento, CA Discussion / Global / Re: Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein executed on: January 01, 2007, 12:47:56 PM
he requested a firing squad as he felt it was more dignified.
i think having it being videotaped at all and posted anywhere is f#cked up. i applaud the quick appeal process, and swift execution after the first ruling was upheld. we should follow suit here in the states. i am all for capital punishment.
but not televised.
12  General Discussion / Automotive / Re: How many of you drive a hybrid? on: December 08, 2006, 03:14:59 PM
the sparrow is a pretty sick little electric.  we had them all over seattle when i was up there.  3 wheeld single occupant, top speed at 70mph, about 60 miles on a charge, though i am sure they have stretched that out by now.  they used to share the motorcycle loading lane with us on the ferry system up there.  owners loved them.
13  General Discussion / Automotive / Re: How many of you drive a hybrid? on: December 08, 2006, 02:53:44 PM
furthering what mori said, what people are missing is what it takes, energy-wise, and the impact environmentally from the construction, operation, and scrapping of said hybrid vehicle.  all those computers, all those wires, chemicals, and batteries.  they may not hurt right now as you save a few dollars at the pump, but it is another way for us to do to our kids what our parents generation did to us.  pass the problem along.
14  Sacramento, CA Discussion / Sacramento Discussion / Re: Area Doctor Accused Of Sexual Assault on: December 08, 2006, 02:47:14 PM
it is more shameful when it is an "authority figure" of any sort, for the exact reasons mori stated.
but the bottom line is, no one profession is any more or less guilty of this.  you could be sexually assaulted by your car salesman for that matter.
i dont think it should even be viewed differently because of the profession.  the truth is, you trust virtually everyone you meet not to assault you, even if it is not a conscious thought.
15  General Discussion / Off Topic / Re: Sailor to Plead Guilty in Spy Case on: December 08, 2006, 02:40:38 PM
well, you know my stance on this stuff, we did serve together on the same boat.

while i am in no way a huge supporter of our government, i am even less a supporter of treason.  we already have the govt doing it's part to kill our military members, we don't need military members making it even easier for the opposition.
