17  Sacramento, CA Discussion / Sacramento Discussion / SAVE THE LIFE OF A CHILD! on: April 18, 2007, 04:06:02 PM
On October 14, 2006, Bob and Angela Kott celebrated the arrival of their son, Trevor.  On October 15, 2006, the day after he was born, little Trevor was diagnosed with congenital acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

Although he was initially sent home with no hope, Trevor has bravely recovered from his fourth round of chemotherapy – and while Trevor was clinically in remission after the first round, he experienced a relapse – a return of the cancer after the third round of chemotherapy – confirmed by a bone marrow test on March 5, 2007. Given this relapse, Trevor’s only hope for a medical cure is a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, a bone marrow aspirate done April 3, 2007 revealed that his marrow contained 70 percent cancer cells. He started his fifth round of chemotherapy on April 4th in the hopes of getting him in remission.

On March 15, the doctors advised that no donor has been found.  Trevor’s need is urgent.  His life depends on finding a matched bone marrow donor in the next six to eight weeks.  Would you consider registering as a possible donor to help Trevor or another child like him?

It’s very easy.   All that is required to register is a simple swab from inside your mouth.  No needles are involved.  Will you take this simple first step to possibly save a life?  Please think about what a huge blessing it would be to the Kott family or any other family with a child suffering from leukemia to have a friend (or stranger) provide such a wonderful gift.

You can register as a bone marrow donor at your local blood bank (you don’t need to give blood).  To find the nearest location, go to:
http://www.aabb.org/Content/Donate_Blood/Where_to_Donate/

Alternatively, you can go through the National Marrow Donor Program and register:  http://www.marrow.org/HELP/Join_the_Registry/Join_Now/join_now.html?src=text

Time is short!  Please pick up the phone, go to your local blood center, or visit the National Marrow Donor Program web site today!

On behalf of the Kott family and all leukemia patients -- Thank you for registering – and thank you for your prayers.   More information on Trevor will be posted soon at www.trevorkott.com

We're looking for the best neighborhood, what is your take on Natomas compared to LandPark or Fair Oaks. We want residential like Folsom but with modern amenities.

OMG I totally missed your reply! Im so sorry!

Most homes in Natomas are newer than those in Land Park and Fair Oaks and it's closer to downtown, which is a good and bad thing IMHO. There are a lot of new businesses in the area, so that's great! But, I've heard some horror stories about people moving in and having bad neighbors because nobody lived there when they bought the house. That's one good thing about older neighborhoods!
