The Bee's circulation and revenue are down according to this, part of McClatchy's SEC filing. 2007 Daily: 270,697 Sunday: 312,706 Revenue: 211,035 (dollars in thousands) 2006 Daily: 283,561 Sunday: 323,271 Revenue: 254,741 (dollars in thousands) I also saw someone report that Ms. Sill makes over $200k/yr, but I can't find that in McClatchy's Investor Relations section.

Stop going to SacBee.com unless absolutely necessary! The latest opinion piece added to sacbee.com gloats over the huge spike in traffic their site has received because of this. Undoubtedly, a huge percent is state workers, or people like us, who will not support their advertisers. Unfortunately, the way it works is that the Bee can now say that their ads will be in front of X number of visitors instead of Y. We want to stop providing them this traffic, so it goes well below average and give them a new variable, Z

It looks like SacBee listened to some of our complaints. Unfortunately, all it did was make the database actually usable. There's a new news story on the front page and, obviously, this update was done to keep it there, in the public eye. You can now search by department and classification. It still lists names. It's still dangerous.
