Sad, very sad

Anyone have any good idea's for New Year's plans in the greater Sacramento area?  I am looking to take my wife out but need ideas.  Where do the 30 something crowd hang out?

North or South?

Any recommendations for a new restaurant in downtown or midtown area?  No specific genre, I am just looking for something new.

I am excited to see what the new SacTown Magazine will offer.  While I do like some of the articles in the Sacramento magazine it will be nice to have an alternative.

For the longest time I have been a big supporter of the new arena, measures Q, and R. While I am still a big proponent of a new arena I just cannot support Q and R.

I am an anti-tax type person, but the development of the rail yards with tax dollars seemed like the right way to go. I felt the rewards garnered by this entire region would outweigh the negatives of a sales tax hike. Now I believe I was wrong. The Maloofs seem to want to squash any competing business around the new arena location, which defeats the whole purpose of the tax in my opinion.

I am all for building a new arena. I am all for development of the rail yards. I just think the current development plan does not warrant public money.
