18  Sacramento, CA Discussion / Introductions / Re: Just a simple introduction on: September 07, 2007, 09:13:24 PM
How do you like Plumas Lake? Is it difficult to find the same level of convenience as in Roseville/Antelope? How's the commute?

Plumas Lake is everything I expected it to be, except for the lake!  j/k

I enjoy my homeownership here.  The community is tight-knit, and the rural setting is nice.  Since PL is a relatively new community, commercial and retail is everything but existant.  We still have to drive into Marysville for our groceries and the closest fuel station is either in Linda or Wheatland.  However, the state will be adding a new interchange on CA-70 which will result in retail coming to the area.  I don't mind being several miles away from everything, but a grocery store and fuel station is highly anticipated by most PL residents.

As mentioned above, I work in Roseville, and I choose the back roads through the rice fields of Sutter County to get there.  It's a 35 minute commute both ways for me on this route.  Not too bad!

Anyways, I see you stopped by the PL forums.  Nice to have you there as well.

Hello all!  Checking in from north of Natomas in Plumas Lake!  Up until 2004, I have spent most of my life in the Antelope/Roseville area.  My wife and I moved to Plumas Lake for the cheaper home prices and the rural setting.  However, my roots will forever be in Sac-town.

I spend most of my time at work in Roseville these days, but I have taken some time out to create a weather website for my neighbors in Plumas Lake.  You can find the link to this site in my signature below.

One of the things I do for my community is to help keep members of our local forum (http://plumaslakelife.com) advised of the weather.  I update the forums when weather warnings, advisories and other statements are broadcast by the National Weather Service to keep the public informed of potential situations that could affect life and property.  I do this to help people stay informed, as many people don't keep up with these alerts on their own.

I'll occasionally add these weather alerts to this forum as well.  Not everybody will find this information of interest, but if you do, I hope this information helps you plan your day.

Anyways, I'm happy to have found this place.  Thanks for having me around.   Smiley

22  Sacramento, CA Discussion / For Sale / SOLD!! 1995 Mazda Miata - $5500 on: September 03, 2007, 09:48:54 AM
If you are looking for a fun, economical and sporty car, look no further! I have a red 1995 Mazda Miata MX-5 for sale. This isn't your run-of-the-mill Miata. Many modifications to improve the performance, appearance and safety of this car have been done. It can easily be used for a commuter during the week, and a track car on the weekend. Completely smog legal, this normally-aspirated car accelerates quickly and takes corners with ease. Asking price of $5500 includes all of the below:

119,000 miles;
1.8L 4-cyl DOHC motor;
5-speed;
Rear wheel drive with Torsen limited-slip differential;
Air Conditioning;
Power Steering;
Power Mirrors;
Power Windows;
Cruise Control;
Power Antenna;
R-package front air dam, rear valence and rear lip spoiler;
Lightweight 14" aluminum-alloy OEM wheels with Bridgestone Potenza rubber;
Alpine AM/FM/CD/MP3 Player with 4-speakers (inc. headrest speakers);
Alpine alarm.

Major upgrades include the following:

High-flow air inlet assembly with K&N filter;
Tri-y 4-2-1 exhaust header;
Dual outlet cat-back exhaust;
Progessive street springs with Koni adjustable shocks;
Larger diameter front and rear sway bars;
Front shock tower brace;
Low-profile quad headlights;
Driving lights (always on for daytime running lights);
Hard Dog Hard Core double-diagonal roll bar;
Air horns (so the SUV's know that you are there!);
Illuminated push button start;
White gauge faces with chrome rings around speedo/tach;
Chrome-polished racing gas-cap cover;
Minor interior leather and chrome upgrades.

Many maintenance records have been kept over the years, but there may be gaps due to my unorganized way of filing things. Most upgrades have receipts.

Kelley Blue Book puts this car, in good condition with minor wear consistant with its age, at around $3700. I'm asking $1800 over this mark to compensate for the extra performance and safety upgrades added.  All aftermarket parts are CARB-exempt, making this car completely street-legal.

This is a special-interest car, and potential buyers looking for a normal Miata may find that this vehicle is not for them. Serious inquiries will only be answered.

PM me for more details on the car.

Click on the Car Domain weblink for more pictures of this vehicle.
