Folsom Cordova teachers are trying to negotiate a new contract with their school district.

More than 500 people turned out to a school board meeting on Thursday night to support the teachers' demands.

The teachers' demands include better pay and benefits.

The teachers want a 7 percent raise, but the district is offering a 5 1/4 percent raise.

The negotiations are at an impasse, but a mediator is scheduled to meet with both parties in April.
