Rocklin Police Capture Suspected Copper Thief
One man was arrested and another person managed to escape Sunday after police disrupted the alleged theft of copper wire from the Pacific Gas and Electric yard in Rocklin, police said.
Authorities said Sacramento resident Dylan McCloud, 19, was booked into the jail in Placer County on suspicion of grand theft, vandalism and conspiracy.
Officials said a police sergeant spotted two people in the PG&E yard on Sierra Meadows Drive at 10:49 a.m. and made contact with them. One person fled on foot, while officials said McCloud complied with the sergeant's demands and was immediately arrested.
