Sacramento To Get Less Homeland Security Money
Sacramento is expected to get less homeland security money than last year, officials said.
The capital will get slightly more than $4 million, down from about $7.4 million last year.
Meanwhile, San Diego is getting double last year's funding in a new round of federal anti-terror grants to cities. The Bay Area and the Anaheim-Santa Ana area in Orange County are also getting a boost, but Los Angeles is losing money.
The anti-terror aid, expected to be announced today by the Department of Homeland Security, goes each year to the 46 metro areas deemed most at risk. The federal anti-terrorism grants are used to train, equip and protect emergency personnel.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said he was concerned about the funding decreases.
