Does anyone know anything about the "40 Acres Apartments" at 35th and Broadway? Are they nice? clean? well-managed?  I sort of know the neighborhood, but how's the crime rate really? Is is a 'shady' place to live (the building and/or the neighborhood)?

Thanks for any feedback!

Ok, I grew up in Oak Park. I live in Westlake now. It is part of Natomas. You DON'T want to move there.

ANYTHING off of Broadway west of 59th street you DON'T want to live.

You are better off in downtown. What's the rent you are looking for? I can give you some good tips on where to look to get the most bang for you buck.

Thank you for your reply.  I'm looking for a place not more than $1000/mth.

Well $1000.00 is plenty for an apartment. You can get atleast a 2 bedroom maybe even a 3rd. Below is a list of homes and studios for your budget. Eric gave you a good resource for apartments.

There are many apartment complexes that go for $850.00 for 2 bedrooms. Specifically I have a friend in a complex on the corner of Azavedo Drive and San Juan Avenue in Natomas. Decent area. I would say middle of the road.

Now for non-apartments. These are in nice areas.

These start at $750.00

Here is another rental for $750.00 In Land Park

$850.00 in Midtown

Here is one just a tad over $1k at $1079.00 This is right near Sacramento City College. Very nice area.
