Hi work with a group of highly educated professionals that lack in common sense and the ability to communicate on a level other than demanding and self centered. Does anyone have thoughts of suggestions one how to motivate them to change.

  I have the same problem, They spend more time and energy complaining, and talking about every one Else's shortcomings, than they do in getting their work done! And I have also found that none wants to say anything to them, because they feel intimidated!

Unfortunately, I've found that for many folks, the longer they stay in school is inversely proportional to the amount of common sense they have.

Well, unless you are the supervisor, there's not much you can do except avoid the office politics.
