Boxer from Sacramento Killed in Crash
Diego "Chico" Corrales, a former two-time world boxing champion and Sacramento native, was killed in a motorcycle crash in Las Vegas Monday night.
His promoter says Corrales was driving his motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he ran into the back of a car about 10 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip.
Corrales, 29, got his start in the Police Athletic League gyms of Sacramento in the mid-90s. He went on to win four world titles during his career, two at the junior lightweight and two at the lightweight.
