Ever wonder what you get when you follow the advice and guidance of self-proclaimed real estate investment gurus and house flippers? Try 2.2 Million dollars in debt!

That's the story, true or not, of Casey Serin, who currently lives in the Sacramento area. I've been following his blog, IAmFacingForclosure.com, for a little while now and it's entertaining to say the least. Up until this point, it's mostly been people harping on him for his shady dealings and lack of business sense, not to mention the other people in his life that have been affected, including his wife. Now, apparently, he's facing litigation from some sharks who smelled the blood in the water and went in for the kill. Two women, Erin Morgan (PrLinkBiz) and Joy O’Day, got Casey to basically sign his life away and an NDA agreement. Fortunately for Casey, neither seem very enforceable. However, because he brought these two contracts to light on his blog, they are now threatening to sue him and anyone enabling him, including his host.

If you have some free time, and you'll need a lot of it, check out Casey's blog. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll want to slap some sense into this guy... Seriously, I think most people hope that this is all a joke. If you want the short version, check out the following flow chart one of his readers sent in... though you'll miss out on all the talk of "sweet deals" and keeping his blog "organic" Wink

BTW, There was recently an article in the Bee about Casey...

Quote
Casey Serin has had more than his 15 minutes of fame. He's been on the cover of USA Today, in the New York Times, on National Public Radio. Now The Bee.

The reason for his renown? The 24-year-old West Sacramento resident has been singularly unsuccessful as a real estate investor. And, unlike most people who've lost a ton of money, he's been happy -- eager, really -- to talk all about it.

Last year he launched a blog (iamfacingforeclosure.com) that chronicles in painful detail every mistake he's made since deciding to get rich "fixing and flipping" -- buying homes, making repairs and then selling them for a profit.

Well, Casey is in the news again, this time on C|net... It looks like his marriage is on the rocks, which is really unfortunate, but his wife is not totally innocent in this. From what I understand several of the loans are in her name. And, since I last posted about him, he's lost all of his houses to foreclosure. No real surprise there...

The worst part is that there are innocent victims, namely the people who live near those properties, who will experience the negative impact on property values due to a foreclosure in their neighborhood.

Maybe the young man wants to follow in the footsteps of John Sutter.

Local blogger, Casey Serin, one of the most hated bloggers on the Internet, has shut down his site, IAmFacingForeclosure.com.

I can only speculate that either law enforcement caught up w/ him, or he failed to uphold the contract w/ his wife. I will say that it's a good thing for him to focus on getting his life and marriage back in order.

Okay, final word on this (hopefully)... Casey is selling the domain, settled a law suit, gave up the rights to his book, and was kicked out of his home... There are 20+ days left of Iamfacingforeclosure.com

At least he wants to fix his relationship with his wife and get a real job. I really wish him the best of luck and hope everything works out for him.

Yes,This is new to me,but I love to read. I will be sure to add these links to my favorites so that I can read it later. I am wondering if he failed at so many of these how did he find any places to loan him money for these houses? With his record of failing ?

From what I understand he got most of the loans before he was technically "failing" ...and he also lied about stated income and used (and ruined) his wife's credit... When things started going downhill for him, it went fast. He then made the mistake of going through places like CashCall who take advantage of people like him. A lot of his money went to so-called gurus' courses that basically taught him how to screw up even more.

So, now he's calling it quits, selling the blog, trying to save his marriage and hoping the FBI doesn't get him for fraud. There are still people coming out from whatever rocks they live under to con him out of rights to his life story, his blog, a book deal, etc. Which means that he's also currently trying to avoid law suits from those people...

Part of me, and there are a lot of people who feel the same way, thinks that most, if not all of this, is fabricated. He's admitted in interviews that he baits the readers and posts stuff that potentially makes people hate him. It's almost like a Howard Stern syndrome - people tune in to see what he'll do next...
