Man Arrested for Posing as a Lawyer

Quote
A Sacramento man was arrested for allegedly practicing law without a license and now police are looking for victims. Sacramento police arrested Thomas Bernard Ware, 50, Wednesday afternoon.

The crime is considered a misdemeanor.

Investigators believe Ware had been passing himself off as a licensed attorney for several years. During that time period, Ware engaged in legal work involving estate law, civil litigation, property law, according to officers.

Officers say Ware even appeared in open court in 2003 and represented a client before a judge. It is believed he has collected and received thousands of dollars in fees.

Records indicate that Ware attended University of Northern California Lorenzo Patino School of Law in 1985. He was awarded a Juris Doctor Degree.
Ware took the California Bar Exam in the 1980's, but did not pass.

Anyone with information regarding Mr. Ware is urged to contact the Sacramento Police Department at (916) 808-0542.

This is pretty funny that he was able to do this and that no one has come forward about it. I would like to follow this story and see what the end result is. I am surprised that it is only a misdemeanor. Apparently everyone was please with the results they have gotten from him. So who knows how this will really turn out.
