New Restaurant Ratings System Set To Begin
Starting tuesday restaurants in Sacramento will have new color-coded signs to let people know how safe the food being served really is.
The new signs will go up as soon as county health inspectors complete their first spot checks of the year. By the end of summer or fall, they'll be obvious almost everywhere you buy food.
Here's what the color coding stands for. Green means the business passed with almost no problems. Yellow means a pass with problems that need to be immediately fixed. Red means the establishment is closed because of an unacceptable health risk.
