Sacramento Man Charged in Kansas Serial Rapes
Prosecutors in Kansas have charged a Sacramento man in a series of rapes from the 1990s. They say the link was DNA.
Cory Elkins, 38, appeared this week in court charged with six counts of rape, three counts of aggravated criminal sodomy and two counts of aggravated burglary. He's being
held on $250,000 bond.
Elkins was placed on probation for a petty theft in Sacramento, and forced to give a sample of his DNA.
That turned up in an FBI database.
Authorities said Elkins lived in Lawrence from 1992 to 1998, where he is accused of raping three women during that time.
