Thousands of Sacramento Homeowners to Save on Flood Insurance
Sacramento city officials will announce this morning flood insurance requirements are being lifted for 26,000 property owners in the Pocket and Meadowview areas.
Homeowners choosing to retain flood insurance will see their premiums drop by as much as half.
The updated flood mapping is the result of more than $60 million worth of flood protection work to take the area out of the 100-year flood plain.
The revised flood mapping in the Pocket and Meadowview areas follows a similar map revision in other parts of Sacramento that removed flood insurance requirements for 54,000 families.
