Ice Cream Vendor Shot In South Sacramento
An ice cream vendor was shot while rolling his cart down the road Tuesday night. It happened in South Sacramento near 42nd and Fruitridge.
The good news is, the man is expected to survive, but neighbors are still very surprised by where the shooting took place. It occurred across the street from the Fruitridge Community Center, a place where kids often play.
It was around dinner time when Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies got the call of a man being shot at 6:20 p.m. in South Sacramento. The victim was an ice cream vendor who was on his regular route for the evening.
“It just appears he was going about his route…he has been seen in the neighborhood quite a bit,” said a sheriff’s spokesman.
Some neighbors heard the gunshots go off, and even saw what they say looked like the gunman take off.
