Police Say Man Shot Self Following West Sacramento Chase
A man shot himself in the head after leading police on a low-speed chase Friday morning in West Sacramento, an official said.
The man's condition was not immediately clear, but he was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.
Lt. Tod Socksman said the incident began when police received a report of a man brandishing a weapon near a boat ramp along the Sacramento River in the Broderick area of the city.
Socksman said the man fled from police in a Honda car, firing at least one shot into the air during the pursuit. Police did not return fire.
