Housekeepers at the Best Western Harbor Inn & Suites in West Sacramento found two dead bodies in a room on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Investigators said a barking dog inside the room caught their attention.

The inn is located at 1250 Halyard Drive.

The bodies of a man and woman, both believed to be in their 50s, were not immediately identified.

Investigators said a large amount of prescription drugs was found near the couple's bodies.

The cause of death is under investigation, officials said.
