Equipment from the old Tower Records store will be auctioned off starting today.

Boxes of DVDs and CDs along with forklifts, desks and file cabinets are some of the items that will be up for grabs.

Officials say a $500 deposit is required to participate, but it will be refunded if you don't buy anything.

Proceeds from the event will go to Tower's creditors.

Bidders don't have to be at Tower's Del Monte Street offices to participate.

The proceedings will be webcast by Great American. Online bidders have to register at the Web site
